RUGBY HISTORY

ABOUT MCS RUGBY

Maranatha Christian School is a 7 a side focused rugby school.

Rugby has brought forward some of Maranatha Christian Schools’ best hero stories. In 2010 Maranatha Christian played their first primary school rugby match with a combined team to fill an u/13 team. The match was the start of something great. Later that same year filling a High School team that would later play two matches against Benoni high in 7’s. Winning one and losing one.

After a couple of years of hard work and team building, the swan song began with the 2010 Primary school now competing at under 16 level

The ended winning the what is now called Warriors sevens series. Scoring over 300 points and only giving away 12 points in the 2013 season.

The rivalry started between Maranatha Christian School and Kings School Robbin Hills to be the best with narrow victories going to both sides along with a draw for the next three years. Maranatha Christian School and Kings School Robbin Hills managing to make every series final and having a share of two championships each.

After 2016 we are looking at the next 2010 7’s side with our current primary school boys working hard to become the Champions.
